Health matters
Sometimes, the worst things that happen to a person end up being the catalyst for the best things that can happen. My real life health story begins with the healthy births of eight beautiful children. The Last pregnancy was a c-section birth. After her birth, the normal pregnancy induced reflux did not go away as it had with previous pregnancies. It stayed, and through the years it gradually grew worse. In October of 2025 I found myself struggling to have the energy to get through my day. I quit a good paying job because of that lack of energy, and moved on to a simpler job. By January of 2026, I started to choke on my food and even throw it back up when I tried to eat. I was in constant pain, until one day I simply failed to get out of bed. I quit the second job in eight months. I called my mother to wish her a happy birthday, and then also explained my problem. I then proceeded to find a gastroenterologist doctor in Arizona because doctors in Syracuse New York were turning me away or not answering my call. I
booked my flight, and arrived in Arizona in early February. I also made an appointment with a chiropractic naturopath I had worked with in the past while staying with my mom for previous stays in Arizona. From there, I started on my current path to healing and hope.
The Gastroenterologist put me on pantoprozole after doing an edoscopy test where a camera is put down my throat to view my stomach. The diagnosis was two ulcers, major inflammation in my esophagus, a sliding hiatal hernia that was causing the reflux which caused the ulcers, and bleeding in my stomach lining. The chiropractor did a brain scan test where my stress levels registered off the charts, high enough to cause a heart attach if not dealt with. He also reaffirmed the hashimoto's thyroid autoimmune disease I was diagnosed with almost 18 years ago. He prescribed the needed NDT supplement and other nutritional supplements to heal my gut and my stomach and get the thyroid problem into remission. He also had me do natural brain therapies to help me learn how to manage stress and conflict. With all this in place, my energy started to crawl back until I woke up one morning and realized I had so much energy that staying in bed was not going to happen. The other change for me is the climate in Arizona. The weather is warm, sunny, and dry. I get natural vitamin d3 from the sun. The result of the climate change is my thyroid problem is back in remission. In addition to these helpers, I am also eating SunRider foods and OptimalHealthS ystem foods and supplements, and Lifevantage foods and supplements, For exercise, I am hiking the Arizona trails two to three days a week, and swimming laps in my mothers pool.
I found a job as a substitute teacher with a local school district , and took a long term shift teaching high school English. This past week I finally reached a point where I had as much energy at the end of the work week, on a Friday morning as I do on a Monday morning at the start of my work week.
I am sharing this blog with the hope that my story can help others who are dealing with similar issues. I have discovered that traditional medical help can be successful when also combined with alternative options such as chiropractic adjustments, natural therapies, and healthy nutritional support and exercise.
